After 45 years of eye care to the community, Dr. McKinney has retired and is adjusting to life with more free time. We thank him for his many years of service.
Dr. David B Whitemarsh

Dr. David B. Whitemarsh

Dr. Whitemarsh is a native of the Pacific Northwest, born and raised in Puyallup, WA. He received his bachelor's degree from Western Washington University and graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, in 2008. 

He is passionate regarding all aspects of optometry from primary eye care to ocular disease management. In his spare time, Dr. Whitemarsh enjoys skiing, camping, swimming, and cheering on the Mariners and Seahawks. 

However, his greatest joy comes from spending time with his family.
Dr. David Lasater

Dr. David Lasater

Dr. David Lasater was born and raised in Washington State and has been in practice for 30 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Washington State University and graduated from Southern College of Optometry in May 1990. 

While studying for his Doctorate of Optometry he became a member of the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanities (VOSH) and served in Costa Rica. 

Dr. Lasater was an honored member of the US Army Reserve Officer Medical Corps and had managed optometry care for Service Members going to and from Afghanistan and Iraq. He has advocated for the eye care needs of deploying soldiers at the level of the Pentagon to establish policy and procedures.

Dr. Lasater is a father to six adult children and eleven grandchildren. 

Dr. Lasater lives on Harstine Island and enjoys family time on his country acres. He enjoys fishing and hikinh as part of living in the Northwest and he delights in sharing the solitude of his home with his large family.
Dr. Zachary Nelson

Dr. Zachary Nelson

Dr. Nelson was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Washington State in October of 2022. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI and graduated from Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.

While in Optometry school he became a member of the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanities (VOSH) and served the people of Meoqui, Chihuahua in Mexico.

Dr. Nelson has worked in many fields of optometry, including; primary care, contact lens, ocular disease, among others.

In his spare time he likes golfing and hiking. He is a sports fan and loves watching all professional and collegiate sports, especially golf and football. When Dr. Nelson isn't golfing or watching sports; he enjoys spending time gardening and tending to his chickens on his seven acres with his fiancé and three dogs."
